Her project involved using small molecules to eliminate a harmful type of cholesterol from the bloodstream to prevent the progression of atherosclerosis. To achieve this, we are assessing the efficacy of different drugs in removing toxic cholesterols from human cells through a rational drug design approach. This process involves conducting computational, in vitro, and ex vivo experiments to measure the activity of the various compounds under investigation. |
